| We have used QuickBooks since QuickBooks 1.0 for DOS. Depending on the type company you have will determine the version of QuickBooks you need.
For example if you have a Micro Business with only one person handling the books and your business is not a specialty business such as contracting, manufacturing, nonprofit, professional services, retail or wholesale and you do not bill for your time, we would recommend QuickBooks Basic.
If your situation needs 2 to 5 users of the program but is not one of the specialty businesses above, you will need one copy of QuickBooks Pro for each user. Each user must have a different license or you could corrupt your database
If you do have one of the specialty businesses above, we recommend the premier edition that pertains to your specialty. There are some good reports that will be beneficial and worth the addition cost.
If you have a Point of Sale business, the POS add on may be good for you.

All of the QuickBooks versions have Payroll. This is a big push for QuickBooks and if you call them, they will tell you that it is easy and you should use their system. We say, that is not true.
