| There are various FTP programs that you can use to move files to and from the internet. I will list some of them here with a link to each ones web site. We will not attempt to explain how to use the programs since each one is different. We will explain what they are used for and why.
Lets say that you have a web site on the internet that someone else created for you. You do not want to have them make changes to the web site for whatever reason - maybe it is just changes to the text and you feel you can handle that...
You would download one of the FTP programs and enter the Web Site address, user name and password information to gain access to the files that make up your site. Based on your previous knowledge of which page you need to change, you would them download a copy of that page to your computer, make the changes using a page editor, and then put the page back.
